Director of Strategy and Programmes
David is Director of Strategy and Programmes at Cause4, leading on Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy and the National Lottery Heritage Fund Business Support Programme, empowering arts and heritage organisations nationally to improve their fundraising success and business development.
In this role, David has worked with organisations across the UK, including Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (TWAM), South West Museum Development, and the West Midlands and East Anglia Local Cultural Education Partnerships.
He joined us from the Albany in London, where he was responsible for earned and raised income generation, partnership development and contract management. During his tenure the organisation more than doubled its turnover. Prior to this, David worked in the Cultural Development team for the London Borough of Hackney, supporting the development of 2012 Cultural Olympiad projects and producing the borough’s key youth arts festival; he was also Company Manager for outdoor arts organisation, Emergency Exit Arts. He speaks at events on income generation, storytelling and governance.
David now lives in Norfolk and is a Trustee of Babylon Arts, in Ely, and leads on programme design and implementation for a number of clients.
