Imagine for a moment that you have decided to take on the challenge of raising funds for a charity you care about, collecting money for a sponsored event. After managing to raise a substantial sum towards the cause, you realise you cannot meet the minimum target to participate in the event and decide to pull out. You phone your chosen charity and reluctantly tell them that you can no longer participate, but reassure them that the donors will allow them to keep the money raised.
